May was another busy month, but I don’t have a huge amount to show for it; I probably shouldn’t spend so much time fixating on E3…

The game is now “Alpha”! It still feels like there’s a lot to do before release, but I’ll be honest, I’m a little burnt out right now. I am in dire need of a break to just play some games and do some life stuff™. To give you an idea of what’s left, two of the six levels still need a considerable balance pass as well as some art polish. Other than that, I still need to work on all of the iOS specific functionality.
That’s how close I am to completion now.
Of course, there’s a lot of other stuff I need to work on, like app icons, a trailer, update the website, etc. but the game itself is basically completed. I know my “burn out” has come at a bad time, but I feel stepping away for a week or two to play some video games will help when it comes to that all important final push – after all, I’m not on any real deadline, this is just for fun! Right?

I’ve been working a little on the website in the past couple of weeks. My portfolio and about/biography pages are now online and I’m quite happy with the biography format. I will likely use this as a template for individual pages from this point onward, specifically on the individual portfolio entries (coming soon). I’ve also tweaked the blog a little, opting for a darker more consistent colour scheme and extended the width so there’s a little less vertical scrolling at higher resolutions. It’s still not perfect but it’s getting there.
