So two weeks into the Steam Greenlight campaign for Jack B. Nimble – how are we doing?
Steam Greenlight Progress
I’m rather pleased with the Steam Greenlight page for Jack B. Nimble. It’s clean and to the point – I imagine this will act as a template for the final Steam store page.
You can see from the chart below that things are going in the right direction. The votes are swinging towards positive, however, the number of votes is decreasing in frequency.
I feel that this might be down to exclusively advertising via social networks. I am directly advertising to potential end users via Twitter and Facebook. While these are likely going to result in yes votes (because I am tailoring my attentions to like-minded groups) they are within my own personal small echo chamber. Even then, these groups are outside of Steam; asking people to login to Steam via their browser is quite a tall ask, there are so many barriers. You can’t rely on number of likes/retweets and comments to guess a number. People still need to login and vote.
There are a number of YouTubers, subreddits and forums I will attempt to spread the word to. On top of that I’ll make an effort to reach out to the press this week, so I’ll let you know if that makes any difference.
Until then, have a good one, and please if you haven’t already, consider voting for the game.
